hmmmss... it swings like a pendulum do, but the resistance is too much for the flimsy front panel as it is here with all the mountings installed. With the upper and lower that ride in the plastic slotted fixtures it's a breeze. The side panel does go on snug with just the lips and the rear latch. The current issue is that the plastic side panels envelop around the front panel which means opening the front panel requires that you slightly open the side panel. I'm thinking on it.
The nice part so far is all the things one can do to vary the airflows; seeing as the entire front is panel is gutted and the dvd drives are just sitting on their sides on the bottom ( I do love the option of flipping the front panel connector panel to get a duct which gives airflow over the memory area temperature sensor or opening the top panel to various positions along with popping the dell shield in and out ). I ran into a clearance issue with where I wanted to have the dvd drives and the artic cooler. Perhaps a pic, but I'll likely leave that for further into the project.

I recut the side panel ears at two inches parallel to the outer side edge of the panel. They were just too much of a pain when opening or closing the chassis up. I'll post some more when I get back into doing the chassis. Some things just drag on ....and on...and on.
